Currently happening at Vaparetket…

The season 2015 brings novelties into our selection. Last season we were developing the Jänessaari island and it is looking good. The island’s barn was cleaned up and polished, and got it to top notch condition.

The old, atmospheric barn is now serving as place for breaks or meals for bigger groups. Now it can also be used for organising meetings in the middle of nature. It’s also a nice place to have some smaller-scale celebrations and other events. There’s also a dance floor in the barn. The most traditional combination for us Finns is the Finnish summer, a barn and a dance – they just go together.

In 2014, a tent sauna was included in the selection. A brave test group went for the first sauna round. After the initial nerves cleared out of the way, they really enjoyed the experience and there was a crowd on the bench. Every once in a while, a cooling dip to the lake and then back to the sauna. The tent sauna became a big hit right away.
